Do all levels sit on the same day?

HSK 1–6 do. Levels 2, 4 and 6 start at 9:00 in the morning; levels 1, 3 and 5 at 1:30 in the afternoon. HSK 7–9 has its own dates and is computer-based only.

What if I miss the deadline?

Then you can't take that date. Pick the next one in the table; there is a sitting most months.

How to sign up, in four steps

1Pick a date and your level from the table above.
2Go to chinesetest.cn, make an account and choose a test centre near you.
3Pay before registration closes. After the deadline, that date is gone.
4Before exam day, print your admission ticket. Bring the same ID you registered with.

Paper or computer?

Paper: Pen and answer sheet. Registration closes about four weeks before the exam, and scores take about a month.
Computer (iBT): The same exam, on a computer at the test centre. Registration stays open until about nine days before, and scores arrive in about two weeks.
