How to answer each part of HSKK Advanced

Part 1 · 听后复述 (Listen and retell)

Don’t try to memorise the words. Hold on to the shape: who, what happened, what changed, how it ended. Retell it in that order in your own sentences; the examiners want the story back, not a recording of it.

Part 2 · 朗读 (Read aloud)

Read at a steady, natural pace and pause at the punctuation. Accuracy matters more than speed: a misread character or a wrong tone costs more than reading a little slowly.

Part 3 · 回答问题 (Answer the question)

Use your preparation time to note three points, not a script. Open with a direct answer, add a reason and an example, then close. Keep talking until the time is up: an answer that stops at twenty seconds cannot score as a developed answer, however correct it is.

What Chinese HSKK Advanced expects

At HSK 5–6 the syllabus expects you to speak “fluently” about society, education, work, science, culture and history: to explain, compare and argue a view, not just describe. Advanced tests that — and retelling a passage you heard once, which is as much about listening as about speaking.

These sets stay inside the HSK 1–6 word lists. Pair them with the HSK 5 mock tests and the HSK 6 mock tests — the listening section trains the same ear the retell needs.

How your practice answers are scored

Each answer gets a score out of 100. Repeating and reading aloud are measured: how much of the text came back, in order, and how smoothly. The other parts are read by an AI examiner told the level, the task and the time you had; it scores whether you did what was asked and how good your Chinese is, and fluency is measured from the pauses in your recording.

Anyone can listen to every question and read every model answer. Recording and scoring need a free account, which gets one scored answer a day; Monthly and Lifetime score every answer with no daily limit. Your recording is never stored.

HSKK questions

How many questions are in HSKK Advanced?

Six: 3 passages to retell (two minutes each), 1 passage to read aloud (two minutes) and 2 discussion questions (two and a half minutes each).

Do I need to remember the passage word for word?

No. The retell is marked on whether the story comes back — the people, what happened and how it ended — in good Chinese of your own. Word-for-word is neither expected nor needed.

How is reading aloud marked?

On accuracy — the right characters and tones — and on a steady, natural pace with pauses in the right places.

Which vocabulary should I study?

The HSK 1–6 lists; every line in these sets stays inside them.

HSK 6 vocabulary

Is this HSKK practice free?

Listening to every recording and reading every question and model answer is free, with no account. Recording and scoring an answer needs a free account, which gets one scored answer a day; Monthly and Lifetime score without a daily limit.

Are these real HSKK questions?

No — they are original questions written to the HSKK paper format and kept inside the HSK 3.0 word lists for each level. Past papers are CTI’s copyright; these are practice in the same shape.

Do you keep my recordings?

No. A recording is sent once, transcribed, scored and discarded. Only the transcript and the scores are saved to your account.
